Frost's Descent霜降
Autumn begins with 立秋, Start of Autumn, in early August and ends with 霜降, Frost's Descent, in late October. It is the year's most literary season: the six terms move from a cool blue opening, through soft pinks, pale creams and dry greens, to the sharp reds and near-blacks of first frost. Autumn in China reads as clarity and ripening rather than decay, which is why its dusty yellows and muted greens make an elegant, premium register — quiet enough for heritage brands, warm enough to feel seasonal.
