白露 · White Dew — "鸿雁来，玄鸟归，群鸟养羞。"

Imagery

“jiān” is fine silk, “xiāng” pale yellow. The warm off-white of silk stored long enough to yellow.

Origin

Books and paintings on silk were said to be “jīnǞxīāng” — bound in pale-yellow silk. As the combining colour it seals White Dew in the colour of old scrolls: the cool term closing on the warm, faded tone of things kept.
