A chalk-white cosmetic pigment from Shaozhou, prized by painters as the purest white. Matched here as a pale bone-white.

Origin

Shao powder was a real pigment merchants shipped up and down the waterways of Ming China. As Spring Equinox’s turning colour it is a warmer, more opaque white — the white of a face-powder and of a primed canvas.
