The pink of the lotus — the classic soft rose of Chinese silk and porcelain.

Origin

The lotus is the emblem of purity rising from mud. As Winter Solstice’s succeeding colour it warms the term’s scale a step toward the flower — midwinter answered with the most summer-bound of pinks.
