Imagery

“Jiàng” is deep crimson; “shā” is fine gauze. A muted brick-rose, the colour of red seen through thin cloth.

Origin

As Major Heat’s turning colour it moves the term’s rose from air to textile — the same dusky pink, now pressed flat and dry. Heat at its peak is given the feeling of a shade pulled across a window.
