Imagery

Classical astronomy distinguished the bright primary rainbow (male) from the faint secondary one (female). This is the fainter, dustier rose.

Origin

Major Heat is also a high-summer term of thunderstorms, and rainbows are its weather. As the succeeding colour it goes one step deeper and duller than Evening Haze — the secondary bow, the one that is easy to miss.
