Imagery & Provenance意象与出处
Solar term
立夏 · Start of Summer — "蝼蝈鸣,蚯蚓出,王瓜生。"
Imagery
“Cuì” is kingfisher jade; “piāo” is pale silk. A green that keeps the shimmer of blue-green silk in it.
Origin
As Start of Summer’s succeeding colour it steps off the wheat field and back toward the sky, adding a touch of blue to the green. Chinese dyers reached the whole family from one indigo bath; this is the lightest dip, a green still wet.
